Self Harm Urges and Emotional Overwhelm

Case: “Nia and the Pain She Couldn’t Put Into Words” 

Nia (19) used self-harm as a way to cope with emotional intensity she didn’t know how to express. She felt misunderstood at home and overwhelmed academically.

Therapeutic Approach:

DBT-informed framework helped Nia learn distress tolerance, emotional regulation, crisis planning, and safer coping mechanisms. We also worked on building her support system.

Outcome

Her self-harm urges reduced significantly, and she reported feeling “in control of her emotions instead of controlled by them.

    I love this theme. Sometimes it’s difficult to work with some themes, because even if they are created with Elementor, you can’t edit all the things with Elementor. Is not the case of Bili. All is created with Elementor and you don’t need Elementor Pro.
