Anxiety and Overthinking
Case: “Raghav & the Loop of ‘What Ifs’”
Raghav (23), a university student, struggled with crippling anxiety before exams. His mind constantly spiraled into worst-case scenarios: health fears, academic fears, and social fears.
Therapeutic Approach:
CBT techniques such as thought monitoring, Socratic questioning, and gradual exposure helped him break the “what if” cycle. We introduced grounding exercises and a personalized “anxiety interruption plan.”
Outcome
Within weeks, Raghav noticed a reduction in his physical symptoms, better concentration, and the ability to calm himself during panic episodes.
