Relationship Conflict and Communication Breakdown
Case: “Aditi & the Silence Between m” The
Aditi (29) came to therapy feeling unheard in her 4-year relationship. What began as small disagreements had turned into long periods of silence, resentment, and emotional withdrawal. She felt she was “losing herself” trying to maintain peace.
Therapeutic Approach:
Using Emotion-Focused Therapy and attachment-based conversations, we unpacked her fear of abandonment and her partner’s pattern of shutting down during conflict. Aditi learnt communication scripts, boundary setting, and emotional regulation skills.
Outcome
She reported feeling more grounded and confident. Her partner joined for two sessions, and they created new weekly check-in rituals that rebuilt connection and trust.
